Otakiri Halls Annual Meeting

The annual meeting of the Otakiri Hall last week was not very fully attended, which was considered a pity as the outgoing committee had quite a good report to make. Mr Caulfield was in the chair, Mr Leslie secretary. The report and balance sheet showed -finances in a healthy condition- and were adopted.

Mr Steenson suggested more dances should be held and a recommendation to the incoming executive that one function per month be held was passed. Mr R. W. Dunning asked questions regarding the road at the side of the hall and also regarding the Memorial addition to the hall, and it was agreed that no final steps would be taken concerning the latter until a public meeting had been called.

A special vote of thanks was accorded Mr W. Murray for the good work he had done in the past and to Mr Caulfield, neither of whom sought t re-election. The ' following were elected: — Chairman, Mr. R. C. Leslie; - secretary, Mr S. Whalley; committee, Messrs A. Cliff, V. Peck, L. Cristall, J Keir, B. Caulfield, A. McLean, M. Woodberi-y (hall agent), A. Burn, A. Haig.
