Pony Club Forms New Branch

A meeting was held in the Matata School for the purpose of forming a combined Pony Club branch in the Thornton-Matata districts. Mr G. Fogerty and Mrs R. Cobbe, of the Whakatane District Club, held the chairs.

After explaining fully the rules and aims of the club, Mr Fogerty called for nominations for office. The following were elected:— Chairman, Mr Ted Heard; secretary, Mrs L. A. Magee; committee, Messrs Henry, A. Magee, Spiers, Hill, Mesdames Bennell, Henry and Spiers; instructors, Mrs Bennell, Messrs T. Heard, A. Magee and Spiers; delegates, Mrs Bennell and Mr Heard. A rally was arranged for ' this coming Sunday, to be held in Magee’s paddock, Thornton.
