Awakeri ParentTeacher Assn.

At the monthly meeting of the Awakeri Parent-Teacher Association on Thursday night, Mrs B. Haultain resigned from the presidency and her decision was accepted with sincere, expressions of regret. Mr G. Anderson was elected acting president until the vacancy can be filled at the next general meeting. A report on the card evenings showed a profit of £3 3s at the end of the sixth series.

Mrs H. Gardner. Mrs Corney and Mr H. Bell were elected to fill vacancies on the card committee. Mr Anderson thanked all those who had given a helping hand with the concreting of the new basketball court and outlined plans for future improvements at the school. A musical quiz conducted by Mr Anderson was won by Mrs Philcox. Community singing was thoroughly enjoyed by all present, as was the supper which followed.
