Awakeri W.D.F.F. Supports Local Community Centre
There was a good attendance at the recent meeting of the Awakeri Branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers presided over by Mrs E. C. Haultain. Mrs S. Mahy was elected to represent the Division on 4he local hall committee, and memberc decided to assist at dances for the raising of funds for the establishment of a Memorial Community Centre.
Mesdames Campbell, Cooper, and Gregan were the recipients of shoulder sprays and good wishes from the members as they are all leaving the district. A presentation of boks and shoulder sprays were made to Mesdaines C. R. Wilson and E. C. Uaultain for the work they have done for the Division during the past four years as secretary and president respectively.
Competition winners:— Best flower: Mrs Bunyan 1, Mrs Brizzle 2, Mrs Roberts 3. Best fruit: Mrs J. Arrol 1, Mrs Barr 2, Mrs McKenzie 3. Best vegtable: Mrs Fabish 1, Mrs McKenzie 2, 'Mrs Arrol 3.
