National Party Ball At Ohope

Dancers from all over the district attended the National Party Ball at the Captain’s Cabin, Ohope, on Wednesday night. An outstanding success with a popular savoury supper, the ball was one of the best yet held. A lucky spot waltz was won by Miss R. Williams and Mr I. J. Shelley. Miss A. L. Shaw and Mr T. J. Langdon were the successful dancers of the monte carlo.

The evening was arranged by the Women’s Division of the National Party at Ohope. Apologies for their absence were received from Mr W. Sullivan M.P., and the Whakatane executive. The Cabin was gaily decorated with fern fronds and balloons, and the festive atmosphere helped to make the ball the undoubted success it was. Music was supplied by Harrison’s orchestra, Mr R. Murray being a most competent M.C. An extra was played by Mr G. Hauesler.
