Births Increase At Whakatane Hospital

There were a total of 49 births at the Whakatane hospital during May the medical superintendent, Dr E. T. Dawson, stated in his monthly report to the Bay of Plenty Hospital Board yesterday. Of these there were 28 females and 21 males. As against this there were six deaths, three males and three females. On the first of April there were 85 patients in the hospital, 47 males, 38 females, but at the end of the month the total had increased to 89, 38 males and 51 females. During the month there were 157 admissions, 51 males, 106 females, but discharges were ten 'less, 147, 57 males, 90 females.
