Love Among The Ruins
(By Angela Thirwel)
Another of this author’s delightful “Barsetshire” books, though definitely of greater appeal to those that know the English country life and character, Miss Thirwel certainly does, and although her canvas is crowded, all its occupants are likeable and human beings, drawn with a full understanding and tender mockery at times. We meet again old friends of “Growing Up” and come in touch with the spirit of post-war Britain, both as it affects the erstwhile “squire” and the modern generation.
