Goodbye To Lilly House
(By Marjorie Tiltman)
This book by Marjorie Tiltman covers the period from the nineties to the blitz. The characters are’ unusual—the children the most “human” of all. The first bride, who dies tragically young loves Lilly House so dearly that as she is dying she writes “I Love You, Lilly House” on the window with a diamond. One is left rather wondering what it is all about—it may be a coincidence but among the many married couples that strut the stage of “Lilly House” none but the first bride can be said to be “happily” married.
