Communists Want To Challenge Mr W. Sullivan M.P.

A challenge has been received by Mr W. Sullivan, Whakatane, M.P. for Bay of Plenty, from the Waikato A Communist Party to a debate at V Mangakino on the subject “that the present policy of the New Zealand Communist Party is in the best interests of the workers of New Zealand.”

Mr Sullivan has replied to the telegraphed challenge, and has suggested that the Communist Party should make its present policy known to the public. He said everyone would be pleased to know in what way the policy differed from the recent actions of its members. Mr Sullivan added that the present policy of the Communist Party was a challenge to New Zealand’s democratic way of life and required complete exposure.
