WHAKATANE ABATTOIR TO COST £15,000?
The cost of the proposed abattoirs at Whakatane is considered to be between £15,000 and £16,000 it was stated at last week’s meeting of the Whakatane Borough Council. The question was raised when a letter received from the Building Controller asked for the details of cost. The Mayor, Mr B. S. Barry, said that no plans or estimates had ever been prepared as the scheme had never reached that stage. It was decided to advise the controller accordingly.
