Rugby Officials From Whakatane On Bay Executive

Mr W. Henderson and Mr P. Bryers, both of Whakatane, were elected president and secretary respectively at the annual meeting of the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union at Matata on Sunday. There was a full attendance to the meeting, which elected the following other officers: Patron, Mr L. Clarke; vice-patron, Mr W. T. Burrett; vice-presidents, presidents of all sub-unions; Maori representative, Mr T. Anderson; Bay Referees’ Association, Mr Rowe; primary schools, Mr E. Naumann; executive, Messrs J. Guinness (Tauranga), G. Andrews (Rotorua), C. Thompson (Rangitaiki), W. Burrett (Opotiki), A. E. Spratt (Te Puke), N, Semmens (Whakatane), F. Peebles (Apanui), Stunell (Galatea); emergency committee, president, secretary, Messrs Andrews, Guinness, Burrett and Anderson; delegates to New Zealand Rugby Union, Messrs Henderson and Guinness.

Three senior and three junior selectors were elected for the whole of the Bay of Plenty. The senior selectors are Messrs T. Anderson (Rangitaiki) who is also chairman, R. Stacey (Tauranga), L. Clarke (Rotorua). Messrs J. Reid (Te Puke) chairman, Lawrence (Rotorua) and Webber (Te Puke) are the junior selectors.
