Demonstration Of Tractor At Thornton

A full demonstration of the capabilities of the Ferguson tractor drew a erowd of about 100 farmers to the property of Mr E. Broadmore, Thornton, last week. The machine was put through different tests and, each time came through easily. The.tractor, with a scodp attached amazed a number of spectators with the ease with which it handled levelling, while the tractor, with the loading equpiment attached, loaded a three yard truck with sand in a very short time. Hauling a three-furrow plough without any difficulty the small tractor, ploughing six inches deep, showed how far modern equipment has advanced ploughing to the comparatively simple job it is today. The demonstration was arranged by the Thornton Y.F.C. in conjunction with the local dealers at Whakatane.—P.B. A.
