EASTERN BAY BRANCH H.S.A. ACTIVE AGAIN

Meeting on Wednesday night an enthusiastic group of Home Servicemen decided unanimously to revive the Eastern Bay of Plenty Branch of the Association which has been in virtual recess for some time. An effort is to be made to encourage the revival of the sub-branches,.par-ticularly at Opotiki, where there is evidence of quickening interest. . The meeting elected an executive, nominated representativs to fill the vacancy on the Rehabilitation Committee, and decided to hold the first executive meeting after the Anzac Day parade on Monday, when Home Servicemen intend to take advantage of the R.S.A.’s invitation to kindred Associations to take part as a body. Members will assemble at the old wharf at 10 a.m.

Officers elected: President, Mr R. Spong; vice-president, Mr J. Henry; secretary-treasurer, Mr H. D. London; committee, Messrs R. Vail, R. Hunter, S. Armstrong, F. Kerr and D. C. Stevens; nominees for representative on the Whakatane Rehabilitation Committee,.Messrs F. A. Clarke and R. Spong; delegatg to Patriotic fund committee (if required), Mr E. A. Ramson; Bank trustees, the President, the secretarytreasurer and Mr S. Armstrong.
