Shooting Season Opens Next Month
The shooting season in the Whakatane district will open on May 14. The. season for cock pheasants, Australian and Californian quail will, end on July 13 and that for grey, mallard, spoonbill, and paradise duck, Pukeko and black,swan on June 5..
Limits are: Cock pheasants, 6; Paradise duck, 5; Pukeko, 20; Grey and spoonbill duck, 10 head in all; Grey, mallard, paradise and spoonbill duck, 15 head in all; no limit on black swan or quail.
