Ballet Lessons Made Vivien Leigh Grow
Vivien Leigh “grew” a quarter of an inch while doing special exercises for the ballet number she dances in M.G.M.’s “Waterloo Bridge.” Ernest and Marie Matray, ballet instructors, assured the petite star that she had nothing to worry about. Some ballet dancers gain a halfinch and more when they first start stretching exercises. As a matter of fact, they say, it’s healthful.
