Gift Afternoon At Galatea

. An enjoyable afternoon was held at the home of Mrs Fred Waller, Galatea, on Thursday, when friends gathered to say farewell to Mrs Leith Rawson, who, with her husband and little daughter, will leave shortly to make their home in Australia.

Following afternoon tea, Mrs Waller proposed a toast to the guest of honour for a safe journey, and happiness in her new home. On behalf of all local residents, Mrs Jansen presented Mrs Rawson with a beautiful box of chocolates.

Solos were sung by Mesdames Fanning, McDonald and Alexander. Community singing closed the afternoon.

Competition winners: Mrs Rawson and Mrs McNair.
