New Bus Will Seat 55 People

Believed to be the largest unarticulated bus ever built, General Motors Corporation has announced a bus seating 55 passengers with unobstructed standing area. Designed as a replacement for obsolete trolley lines, the bus will soon be in operation in New York City and Chicago. The engine is a 200 h.p. diesel, coupled to a hydraulic drive transmission. A 45in. front door and standard rear door guarantee quick passenger circulation. The body is aluminium. The undercarriage is reinforced at points carrying load of large standing 'crowds.
