! Owing to wet weather the Awakeri Women’s Division of Federated Farmers had to abandon the garden ; party which was to be held at the j home of Mrs C. Wilson. The meeting for March was held in the Awakeri Hall. Mrs Haultain presided and the attendance was goodThe well-laden sales table was very well patronised. A feature of the afternoon was a most mterest- • ing demonstration of wreath-mak- ! ing given by Mrs Hallett, which was | very simply and effectively carried i out. During the afternoon some of the members took part in a 500 card tournament. Competition results: — Fruit: Mrs F. Matchitt 1, Mrs McKenzie 2, Mrs N. McDonald 3. Flowers: . Mrs Knight 1, Mrs Barr 2, Mrs Roberts 3. Vegetables: Mrs Roberts 1, Mrs : C. Butler 2, Mrs Matchitt 3. i'; A fruit cake was won by Mrs H. ■, Luke and sponge cake by Mrs P. ■. Church. Afternoon tea brought the I happy afternoon to a close.
