SERIOUS ERODING BY THE SEA AT STEPS AT HEADS

That something should be done about the undermining by the sea around the concrete steps at the Heads was urged by Cr H. G. Warren to the Whakatane Borough 'Council on Monday night. He claim•ed erosion was now reaching a seri- • ous stage and if left longer may prove expensive to repair.

When this was referred to the borough foreman-engineer, Mr W. LHenderson, he said that several feet -of sand had been shifted from ;around> the steps and agreed that [protection work should be done immediately. The council authorised Mr Henderson to proceed with the job.
