INTEREST IN SUMMER SHOW MOUNTING FAST

Now that a thousand of -the schedules have been issued, there is evidence of rapidly-mounting interest in the forthcoming Whakatane and Rangitaiki A. and P. Show on February 19. With just on three weeks still to go before entries close, the secretary, Mr T. H-. Morgan is being besieged with inquiries, not only from would-be competitors, but'from trade exhibitors and side show organisations. Though the organisation is just moving 'into high gear, it is not too early to say that this year’s show promises to more than make up for the disappointment of last year’s cancellation on account of the polimyelitis outbreak. Horse events always have been a strong feature here, and in that respect this year should be well in line with 'tradition. There is already keen inquiry for schedules from intending competitors, not only in this district but throughout the Waikato, Poverty Bay and East Coast areas, where horse sports have always been strong and the standard of competition high. Though there is no definite indication yet as to how many teams this district will be able to muster, the girls’ marching event has already drawn tentative entries from Rotorua, Tauranga and 1 probably Te Puke.
