Appeal To Farmers Not To Pen Any Baggy Sheep

Sheepfarmers are asked not to pen daggy sheep for shearing. This request has been made by the Bay of Plenty Province of . Federated Farmers, in arrangement with the New Zealand Workers Union. It is not easy4o define a “daggy” sheep so a reasonable interpretation must be applied by both shearers and sheepowners. Where sheep are excessively daggy, farmers are urged to attend to the matter before penning for shearing. It will be to the advantage of all if the spirit of this appeal is accepted by farmers and a common-sense view taken by owners and shearers on the matter.
