Films Screened For Young Farmers
Films are now being used very extensively in New Zealand to illustrate to farmers the various improvements in farming methods that have been made overseas. Films from U.S.A., England and Australia have proved valuable while, those showing methods used in Europe have proved interesting comparisons. ' 1 Many screenings have been held for farmers in the Bay of Plenty, the latest being that at the recent meeting of the Wainui Young Farmers’ Club. Five films were shown by Mr E. R. Marryatt, Fields Instructor for the Department of Agriculture, Whakatane. They were, “John Bull,” showing the different breeds of British livestock; “The Science of Milk Production,” produced by Professor W. E. Petersen, who passed through the Bay of Plenty on his New Zealand tour; “Good Seed.” a New Zealand film on the Government seed testing station at Palmerston North; “The Harvest Shall come,” a story of the English farm worker; “War on the Sea,” being a record of the war at sea, includ;ing the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour.
