Maximum Weight Of Wool Bales Is Now Strictly Limited
The secretary, Federated Farmers of New Zealand, Bay of Plenty 'Province, draws the attention of farmers to the “Board of Trade (Wool Packing) Regulations, 1948,” which states. The maximum weight for a bale of wool intended for sale or transport shall be:— (a) Where the bale contains wool of one or more of the following descriptions namely, slipe wool, lambs wool, carbonised wool, scoured wool, and wool in the fleece—4oolbs. (b) In every other case—4solbs. Every person commits an offence against these regulations who packs or causes to be packed, any bale of wool, the gross weight of which exceeds the maximum weight prescribed by these regulations by more than 2\ per cent. As the Federation has experienced considerable difficulty in getting these weights agreed to, all farmers are urged to keep the weight of feales within the limits prescribed in the regulations.
