Public Lavatories At Whakatane

“We have received complaints from some people who have used your lavatories here in Whakatane,” said Mr E. A. Dykstra, president of the Murupara Chamber of Commerce to the annual meeting of the Whakatane Chamber on Thursday night. “I hope you won’t' feel offended but I do think the matter should be taken up with the borough council to see if some improvement could not be made,” he added. Replying to Mr Dykstra, the chairman of the borough works committee, Mr H. G. Warren, said a new lavatory was at present being constructed behind the Rock and it was hoped to have it open by Christmas.
