Theft Admitted

Alexander William MacDonald pleaded guilty to the theft, at Edgecumbe, of a tarpaulin valued at £6 arid belonging to Geo. Syftie and Company, and was sentenced to 7 days’ gaol. Constable Julian said MacDonald had been arested at Hokitika and had been in custody for three weeks. The tarpaulin had disappeared from the manager’s workshop at Syme’s' Mill and had later been identified in a whare occupied by the acdused.
