Intoxicated In Car
George Meredith, was convicted and fined £ls, costs £l/11/- for being found intoxicated in charge of a car on the Whakatane-Taneatua
highway on the evening of November 23. His driving license was cancelled, and he was prohibited from holding another for 12 months. Police said that, when accosted about half a mile this side of Taneatua, defendant was sitting behind the wheel of his car, which was correctly parked. A doctor certified him under the influence of alcohol.
