Waimana Plunket Evening
The evening held in the Waimana Hall recently for Plunket funds was a great success. The amount taken was over £56, a most creditable effort. There was dancing, bring and buy stalls, and competitions of all kinds. King’s orchestra supplied the dance music" and Mrs N. Potter kindly obliged with an extra. Mr Angus acted as M.C., and Mr Leather was doorkeeper.

Stansbury gave two humorous elocutionary items, entitled “Jealousy” and “He Student.” A humorous sketch entitled “A Hole In My Bucket” was acted by Mrs T. King and Mrs Stansbury, and a melodrama was also staged and produced by Mrs T. King. . After supper, Mrs G. Mitchell, president of the Plunket Society, thanked all present for their great assistance which made the function such a success. Thanks were extended to all donors of gifts for competitions, etc. Dancing continued until midnight.
