Sunday School's Christmas Party
The children of All Saint’s Sunday School, Edgecumbe, recently spent a happy afternoon at the home of Mrs Ferguson, when Captain Rooney and a band of willing helpers arranged a Xmas party for pupils. It was a bright sunny day, and the well-trimmed lawns and shady trees made a perfect playground. A variety of games were played by young and old, and a real “party” afternoon tea was served. Much pleasure was expressed by the little ones, when they found they could have an ice cream in each hand.
Biggest attraction of the day was the arrival of that beloved friend of all children, Santa Claus, with his basket of balloons and his friendly handshake. Santa, himself, distributed to each child a small gift from the decorated Xmas tree. The children then sang Xmas carols and the party ended with three rousing cheers for all who had made the afternoon such a success.
