IDEAL WEATHER MAKES AWAKERI’S DAY PLEASANT

On Friday, the annual field day of the Awakeri School Calf Club was held under ideal conditions and a large number of parents gathered to witness the judging and handling of calves, as well as the indoor exhibition. The morning was devoted to the calf sections, and after a picnic lunch in the shade of the trees spectators lined the sports track for a programme of children’s races. At the conclusion of the day’s programme Mrs E. C. Haultain presented the awards to the winners. Results:— Calf Judging Junior light breed: Pat Campbell 1, Marie Roberts 2, Verna Quinn 3.
