Major-General Hawes, Controller of Personnel, British Red Cross Society, in a letter to the SecretaryiGeneral of the New Zealand Red Cross Society, states that the Society there was delighted to welcome the New Zealand delegation to the International Red Cross Conference at Stockholm. General Hawes referred with gratitude to the endeavours of the New Zealand Red Cross Society in sending gifts of food and clothing to Britain. His letter states that the magnitude of the efforts made by all in New Zealand. is an example to the world.
