Taneatua Calf Club Day

It was unfortunate that the weather was not more kind when the annual calf club day , was held at Taneatua on Wednesday. However, it took more than rain to dampen the enthusiasm of the youthful owners. The calves were of sple-n-, did type and showed evidence of the care and attention which had been lavished on them. Mr J. Rae Senr. judged the entries and waS impressed by the quality of the calves entered. Results follow:- — Senior Division, Light Breed Dairy Type Grade: lan Newdick 1 and 2. Junior Division, Light Breed Dairy Type, Pedigree: Walter Reid 1, Margaret Reid 2. Senior Division, Light Breed Dairy Type, Pedigree: Rosemary Reid 1, Janet Hill 2, David Hill 3. Heavy Breed, Dairy Type: Gwen Burgess 1, June Burgess 2, Robert Shaw 3. Best Reared Pedigree: Rosemary Reid 1, Margaret Reid 2, Janet Hill 3. Best Reared Grade: lan Newdick 1 and 2, Gwen Burgess 3. Best-Handled Calf: lan Newdick 1 and 2, Rosemary Reid 3. Calf judging by children: Rosemary Reid 1, Robert Goodhew 2.
