Gardening Circle At Taneatua
A very pleasant afternoon was spent by members of the Taneatua Gardening Circle when they met at Mrs Fogerty’s home on Tuesday afternoon. Mrs Fitchitt presided over a very good attendance. It was decided to hold the December meeting at Mrs Sisam’s residence, all members to take a small plate. Readings of interest were given by Mrs Grey, one on the largest flower show in the world (3 acres at Southport, England) and one on judging the age of nikau trees by the rings on the trunk. Helpful hints were gleaned from the roll call “Seasonal hints.” Competition results:— Bridesmaid’s bouquet: Mrs Olliver 1, Mrs Hayward 2, Mrs Grey 3. Best vegetable: Mrs Hayward 1, Mrs Sisam 2, Mrs Butler 3. Best flower: Mrs Sisam 1, Mrs Olliver 2, IVTrs Hayward 3. '
