Girl Guide Activity At Taneatua
The annual meeting of the Taneatua Girl> Guide Sub-Committee was held in the sports pavilion on Monday afternoon, there being a fair attendance. Mrs Kingsley-Smith and Miss Righton, of Whakatane, were presents Officers elected were: President, Mrs Hayward; secretary, Mrs G. Santon; committee, Mesdames Davies, Lawn, Gardner, Norman, A. Mitch eli; delegates to Whakatane Central Committee, Mesdames Hayward and Mitchell. Reports on the year’s workings were presented by Mrs Hutchinsoh, Girl Guide Captain, and Mrs Ricketts, Brown Owl. These reports showed considerable activity and progress. ' ... Mrs Kingsley-Smith gave a very interesting report on her visit as delegate to the North Island Girl Guide Conference and the opening of “Arahina,” a lovely home which has been acquired and will be used as a training home for Guiders. Afternoon tea was served by the retiring committee.
