LADIES’ GOLF CLUB FINANCES SOUND: SEASON REVIEWED
At the annual meeting of the Whakatane Ladies’ Golf Club the attendance was only fair, considering that there are about 100 members in the Club. The President, Mrs Sloane, comprehensively reviewed the season’s activities in an annual report which recorded that membership Rad increased to about 100, and added that six players in the Silver division had reduced their handicaps during the season, the leading player being now on 8. Four members on 19 had reduced • into the Silver Grade, 15 members in the Bronze Grade had also reduced their handicap considerably and four new members earned handicaps. * The Treasurer, Mrs Stene, showed that the finances of the club were in a healthy condition-and it was decided to give the. sums of £IOO to the Furnishing Fund and £SO to the Building Fund. Election of officers:—President, Mrs Otley; vice-president, Miss Black; captain, Mrs Combes; vicecaptain, Mrs E. Armstrong; secretary, Mrs Dawson; committee, Mesdames Sloane, Ker, Donaldson, Stone, Burke, Luxton and. Miss Otley. * Votes of thanks were passed, to the captain, Mrs Symmans. the secretary, Mrs Dawson, the treasurer, Mrs Stone, the outgoing committee and for their very willing help during the open tournament, Mesdames' Spence, Stone and Combes, Messrs Berg, Burke and Bushett.
