PIG COUNCIL MEETING
At a meeting of the Bay of Plenty District Pig Council at Whakatane yesterday, the. forthcoming retirement of Mr H. M. ' Piersen, Superintendent of the pig industry, was discussed. Matters such as supplies of piping to dairy farmers, the £IOO loan scheme for building or extending piggeries, the proposed new grading regulations for pig meats and the report of the three days supervisors’ conference at Hamilton also engaged the attention of the meeting. The chairman, Mr D. S. Ross, gave an outline of the last meeting of the National Pig* Industry Council held at Wellington.
