Mr B. F. B. Peters, factory gardener for the Rangitaiki Plains Dairy Co. at Edgecumbe, has been notified of his election as an Associate of the Royal Horticultural Society, London. Associateship is restricted to working gardeners. Mr G. H. Dainton, manager of the Whakatane branch of the Bank of Australasia, leaves on December 2 to take charge of the Matamata branch. Mr G. I. Latta, present branch manager at Featherston, will arrive to take charge of the Whakatane branch on November 24. Assistant Commissioner H. D. Cobb will arrive at Whakatane on Saturday for the annual inspection of district units of the St John Ambulance organisation. Units from Edgecumbe, Taneatua, Waimana and ■ Whakatane will parade. Inspection of the Cadet -Divisions will take place in the afternoon and of the adult units in the evening at the St John Hall, King Street.
