EASY MONEY PLAN

Chain Letter Offers .£25/10/-For 2/-

That "lucky" chain letter we got last week apparently had something in it. Now comes the chance to make some easy money. For 2/- we can get £25/10/-! But let no one be confused. This latest parcel of good fortune that has found its,way into the Beacon office is not a chain letter, cut a real "Holiday Club." l

Here's how it works: ■ One receives a letter with c list of names at the top, under the heading, "1948 Holiday Club." It says within three days one must send a postal note for 2/- to the top r-ame on the list. Then one sends copies of the letter to each of four other people, leaving off the top name to whom the 2/- has been sent, and adding one's own name at the end of the list.

Then, the letter naively adds, "in return you should receive £25/10/when your name reaches the top of the- list."

It concludes with this appeal, "Please be a sport and keep this going. It is not a chain letter, but a real Holiday Club." On the face of it, the svheme looks a good one, but the man who sent the letter to the Beacon was dissatisfied. He hadn't received his £25/10/-.
