Public Opinion

Sir, —May I offer my heariest congratulations to the Whakatane Borough Gouncil for, in my opinion, their very wise decision not to allow tawa timber to be used for any class of buildings within the Borough. May I add that country people especially farmers who are ever on the market for various purposes, take note of the Council’s decision. Tawa is useless for any purpose where the slightest dampness can reach it, and boring insects of all kinds love it. Thanking you Sir for the valuable space allowed me. Yours etc., T. H. DOBSON.
