Despite adverse weather conditions the Whakatane Fire Brigade team journey to Opotiki over the week-end to compete in the. interbrigade runs. This was the second of the series, and the Opotiki team turned the tables against Whakatane on this occasion. One Man Event: Opotiki 71 1-5 secs., Whakatane 64 l-ssecs. Two-Men Hose and Standpipe: Opotiki 39 2-ssecs., Whakatane 41 secs. Three Men Disabled: Opotiki 47 secs., Whakatane 55 4-ssecs. Four Men Two Delivery: Opotiki 53- l-ssecs., ssecs. penalty, Whakatane 58 3-ssecs. Four Men Motor Event: Opotiki 60secs, Whakatane 56 4-ssecs. Opotiki team won three events, and Whakatane two. This meant in the aggregate points Scored that the home team had a 3£ point win.
