Taneatua Women’s Institute
The, September meeting of the Taneatua Women’s Institute was held in the hall supper room, with a good attendance. Routine business was dealt with, after which Mrs Frost gave a very full and interesting report on her trip to Wellington as delegate to the W.I. Conference. The president displayed the very beautiful banner of black velvet made and embroidered by Mrs Frost. She was accorded a hearty vote of thanks by acclamation. The roll call “A hint, or can you tell me” brought- forth numerous helpful bright ideas. The demonstration by Mrs Hayward on Puff Pastry making (margarine) was watched intently and she also was accorded a vote of thanks. Mrs Grey provided a reading of interest. It was .decided to hold the .annual Show on Saturday, November 27 and the following committee was appointed: Mrs Semmens, Mrs Hayward, Mrs' Lawn, Mrs Frost, Mrs Allen, Mrs Gardner, Mrs ’K. Tebbutt, Mrs Bennett, Mrs Grey. The wall .competition .was arranged by Mrs-Frost. " - \ -Competition results:— Ginger gems: Miss Hills 1, Mrs Gardner 2. Face cloth: Mrs Grey 1. Best vegetable: Mrs Tebbutt 1, Mi's Hayward 2.
