Rangitaiki Plunket Garden Party
In spite of the rather showery weather the garden party held on Thursday by the Rangitaiki SubBranch of the Plunket Society, was an outstanding success. Mrs J. Black, of Edgecumbe, had “loaned” her home and garden for the event.and the spacious gardens, looking particularly attractive decked with spring flowers, were very much admired by all present. Numerous bring and buy stalls did a steady trade, and were very well stocked with a large variety of goods. The committee is planning a further function in connection with the bpening of the new Plunket Room at Edgecumbe, and this will take the form of a Gala Day. Competition winners: Crazy hat: Mrs R. Sutton; treasure hunt, Mrs Kirk; sodder golf, Mrs Thomas; felt rabbit, Yvonne Sutton; groceries, Mrs F. Bell;‘peas in jar, Mrs Burgess; chocolate, Lance Sutton; the cake competition to be* finalised at the next committee meeting. •
