Waimana Farewells Sister Armstrong
An enjoyable afternoon tea party ■was held recently, to say farewell to Sister Armstrong, at the residence of Mrs C. Such, Waimana. Fourteen mothers were present and all brought a plate of dainties for the afternoon tea. After tea, Mrs G. Mitchell, president, presented Sister Armstrong with a beautiful crystal vase and, in a short speech, thanked her, on behalf of the Waimana and Nukuhou mothers, for the work and help she had given them during the past years. Sister Armstrong thanked all present for the lovely gift and pleasant afternoon and hoped the mothers would bring their babies to see her sometimes in Whakatane. Nurse Pearse was present and welcomed to Waimana by Mrs Mitchell arid presented with a dainty posy of primroses. Mrs Mitchell also announced that a dance and sales table would be held in November, and asked for contributions towards it.
