DUNEDIN TRAFFIC CHIEF
WANTS SHIELD BURNED! “I’ve had the Ranfurly Shield. The sooner they burn it the better. It is the greatest moneymaking conern in New Zealand.” This was stated by Dunedin’s chief traffic inspector, Mr E. H. Barrett. He was referring to the traffic hazard caused by the accumulation of cars in the vicinity of Carisbrook during shield matches and Ito the general behaviour of motorists.
