Y.F.C. DEBATE
On Monday evening a debate took place in the Taneatua Hall between Taneatua and W a i mana Y.F.C. teams. The latter won. The subject was “That co-opera-tive farming should be developed in New Zealand to assist in the settlement of young men desiring to take up land.” Waimana took the affirmative. Teams, were: Taneatua, R. Hill (Leader), G. Hill, J. O’Brien. Waimana, D. White (Leader), J. Cranswick, W. Macdonald. Mr I. B. Gow, adjudicator, gave his decision in favoun of Waimana by 280 points to 262. The outstand-' ing second speaker and the strength of the leader’s final speech were the main factors for the Waimana team’s success. Mr G. Yeoman acted as timekeeper and chairman.
