Edgecumbe Guides Receive Badges
A pleasing function was held at ; Edgecumbe on Saturday last when, the Edgecumbe Guides and Brownies held their “Flying' Up” and enrolling ceremonies. Mrs Santon, District Commissioner, presented the “Wings” and “Tenderfoot” Badges, and gave an address, expressing the hope that the • local Guides would be able to parade before Their Majesties during their forthcoming tour in New Zealand. Phyliss Woollett and Judith Radcliffe received their “Wings” and “Tenderfoot” badges. Margaret Andresen and Romaine Roberts receiving Tenderfoot Badges. Otakiri Guides were, guests of the afternoon, as also were parents of the Edgecumbe Guides. The opportunity, was taken to form a Guide Committee from those present. After a delightful afternoon tea had been served, games were played by the young people.
