Plains Dairy Co’s Bright Staff Dance

The Central Theatre, Edgecumbe, was the scene of a very successful dance on Tuesday evening, when the Rangitaiki Plains Dairy Co’s social committee held an “Open Evening”. M.C. duties were in the capable hands of Mr J. Hickey, and' music was supplied by Freddie Burt’s orchestra in their usual bright and breezy manner. After a very delightful . supper had been served, Miss Adams obliged with an “Extra” which was very much enjoyed by the throng of dancers. Birthday honours were acorded Miss Shirley Kenyon, the occasion being her 21st birthday. A vocal interlude was given by Miss Sadie Rake and was very much appreciated. One of the high spots of the evening was the “Congo Line,” led by Miss Helen Ferguson. Winners of the novelty dances were: Spot Waltz, Miss M. Bunn and Mr Wylde; Monte Carlos, Miss B. Butler and Mr M. Melmonch, Miss S. Baldock and Mr Fenton. Other competition prizes went to Mr B. Jones, Mr G. Watson ■ and Mr J. Bell.
