League Of Mothers

An interesting letter was received by the Whakatane Branch of the League of Mothers at its June meeting, from the link in Dumfries, England, thanking members for the food parcels. Mrs Hepburn gave two humorous recitations. The speaker for the day was Mrs K. Stewart who spoke briefly on the places in England, Scotland, Holland and Paris that she has visited while attending a conference in Holland. This address was well received and the speaker was presented with a flowering pot plant by the acting president, Mrs Metcalfe.
