First Issue Of Stamps In Tokelau Islands

Tokelau Islands postage stamps were placed on sale at Tokelau today. Denominations are id, Id,- 2d. This is the first issue for Tokelau Islands. The stamps will be available at chief offices at Auckland, "Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and at the stamps branch of the General Post Office. These stamps cannot be used for postage in New Zealand. They are made available in New Zealand as a facility to collectors wanting unused sets. Tokelau Islands authorities advise that first day covers sent up previously to Tokelau can be expected back in New Zealand towards the end of July.:
