L.K.C. President’s Call To Delegates At the annual meeting of the Bay of Plenty Labour representation committee at Te Teko, the president, Mr A. R. Newdick, expressed disappointment at the continued industrial unrest which, he said, should not be apparent with a Labour Government in office, and called on delegates to combat the malcontents and give increased assistance to Labour’s political leaders. s’ Commenting on the balance sheet, the president voiced satisfaction at the healthy balance to 'be carried forward for the intensification of activities as election year approached. •The following officers were elected:— President, Mr A. R, Newdick (Awakeri Branch); vice-president, Mr G. San ton (Taneatua Branch); secretary-treasurer, Mr F! J. Horwood (Rotorua Branch); minute secretary, Mrs M. N. Horwood (Rotorua Branch); executive, Messrs R. Riddell (Whakatane Branch), W. Yates . (A.S.R.S. Rotorua), J. M. Doherty (N.Z. Workers’ Union, Rotorua), L. Newdick (Taneatua Branch), J. Garvin (N.Z. Timber Workers’ Union, Rotorua), R. Carnachan (Rotorua Branch), B. Martin (A.S.R.S. Rotorua) and D. Alexander (Edgecumbe Branch); delegates to divisional area, Messrs A. R. Newdick and D. Alexander, with Mr G. Santon as deputy delegate when necessary; hon. auditor, Mr W. Garth. Matters pertaining to rehabilitation of ex-servicemen were discussed at length and the question • of breaches of the building regulations in various areas in the electorate received considerable attention from delegates'.
