Awakeri Y.F.C. Wins Final Inter-District Debate
The final inter-district debate in the Eastern Bay of Plenty Y.F.C. district, between Awakeri and Waimana, was held in the Awakeri Hall last Friday, the subject being: “That a vigorous policy of subdivision of first-class dairy land in blocks over 150 acres should be undertaken.” Awakeri won with 280 points to Waimana’s 276. The Awakeri team was J. Barr 80, C. Martin 66 and S. Luttrell 68. Waimana was represented by J. Marra 77, J. White 66 and G. Mitchell 67. Mr L. Brown, Manager of the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd., presented a cup donated by that firm.
